Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern all services provided by Strong Hearts Cattery ("SHC"). By using these services, you agree to these Terms. We may amend these Terms at any time without notice, so please ensure you keep up to date via our website and your online portal. Your continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of any amendments.

Agreement

By agreeing to and signing these Terms, you are subject to the governed laws in force in the State of Victoria. As mentioned, these Terms may be amended at any time without notice. We will ensure the most updated version is always available to the public, but it is your responsibility to keep yourself informed of any changes.

In this agreement, you, the pet owner, will be referred to as "I" and Strong Hearts Cattery will be referred to as "Strong Hearts Cattery" or "SHC".

I understand and agree that by leaving my pet(s) with Strong Hearts Cattery, I certify the accuracy of all the information I have provided on my pet(s) and acknowledge this agreement, which creates a lien over my pet(s).

Booking Requirements

  • All pets must have a vaccination history (F3, F4, or F5). Proof must be added to their portal or sent to us before the booking can be confirmed. Failure to provide this information will result in a refusal of boarding or a cancelled booking.
  • Cats older than 12 months require a current (within the last 12 months) vaccination certificate.
  • Cats younger than 6 months require proof of their initial vaccination and booster/second vaccination.
  • Any animals presenting illness, live fleas, or parasites (excluding disclosed medical notes such as Diabetes, FIV+, Thyroid/Renal diseases) may not be accepted.
  • If live fleas, worms, ticks, or other parasites are found, Strong Hearts Cattery will treat the pet(s) accordingly with spot-on flea/worm treatment. Additional charges will apply ($30).
  • All cats must be flea-treated at least 48 hours before their check-in date.
  • Cats from the same household will be housed together unless directed otherwise

Peak Season

  • Peak season includes Victorian school holiday periods, the Easter holiday period (spanning from Good Friday to Anzac Day), as well as the Christmas holiday period (19th of Dec, to 8th of Jan).

Fees, Cancellations, and Refunds

Fees:

  • I agree to the fees and charges as invoiced.
  • Full payment is required at the time of booking.

Cancellation Policy:

Regular season:

  • A full refund will be provided for cancellations made 7 or more days before the check-in date.
  • A 50% refund will be provided for cancellations made between 7 days and 24 hours before of the check-in date.
  • No refund will be provided for cancellations within 24 hours of the check-in date.

Peak season:

  • A full refund will be provided for cancellations made 14 or more days before the check-in date.
  • A 50% refund will be provided for cancellations made between 14 days and 7 days before of the check-in date
  • No refund will be provided for cancellations within 7 days of the check-in date.

Late Collection Policy:

  • Extensions to bookings and check-out times can be made at regular boarding rates (per day), subject to availability. If availability cannot be made, the request may be declined, and any extra days that extend the original checkout-date will incur additional charges until the pet(s) is collected.

Early Collection Policy:

  • No refunds are given for early departures unless notice is given 7 days prior to the check-out date. If notice is given, I will be charged for the duration my pet(s) stayed at Strong Hearts Cattery.
  • No refunds are given for early departures during peak season.
  • Any additional length-based discounts applied to the booking will be nullified in the event of an early check-out date

Out-of-Hours Services Policy:

  • An additional fee will apply to services required outside of our regular business hours. This will be shown at the time of booking, this can include administering medication. These additional out-of-hour services will be subject to approval.

Medical Care

  • I am responsible for any Veterinarian costs my pet(s) incur while in the care of Strong Hearts Cattery.
  • If my pet(s) is on medication, Strong Hearts Cattery will ensure it is given at appropriate doses and times as advised. Strong Hearts Cattery accepts no responsibility for liability in relation to the administration of medication unless due to negligence.
  • In a medical emergency, Strong Hearts Cattery will do its best to contact me prior to taking action. If I cannot be reached, Strong Hearts Cattery will ensure my pet(s) receives the required medical attention. In case of a serious illness and unavailability of the owner, the veterinarian's decision will be final. I am liable for any costs arising from vet visits.
  • I give Strong Hearts Cattery permission to seek veterinary treatment for my pet(s) if deemed necessary during their stay. Strong Hearts Cattery will prioritize my choice of vet clinic, which I have added to my portal. However, a different clinic may be contacted if availability, time constraints, distance, and other factors come into play.
  • Any pet(s) that appear to have been mistreated, neglected, or that injure other animals or people may be referred to the relevant authorities, with the owner liable for any consequences.

General Care Policies

  • All pets will be fed high-quality feline food, except for any special diets provided by the owner.
  • Owners give permission for photos and videos of their pet(s) to be used on social media for marketing purposes without compensation. If you prefer we do not take or use photos or videos of your feline, please advise us at the time of booking.
  • Owners are responsible for any excessive damage caused to other pet(s) or property by their feline.
  • Strong Hearts Cattery reserves the right to refuse boarding at its sole discretion at any time.
  • I understand that my pet(s) may encounter other cats and Strong Hearts Cattery staff and volunteers.

Abandonment

  • I understand and agree that if my pet(s) are not picked up within 14 days of the check-out date, they will be considered abandoned, and Strong Hearts Cattery holds the right to rehome my pet(s). Any unpaid charges will be pursued by a debt collection agency on behalf of Strong Hearts Cattery.

Indemnity and Limitation of Liability

  • I indemnify Strong Hearts Cattery against all losses, damage, or liability arising in connection with:
  • Claims by third parties of infringement of intellectual property.
  • Competing claims to title.
  • Loss or damage to the property of Strong Hearts Cattery.
  • Claims by any person in respect of personal injury, illness, or death, or loss of or damage to any property.
  • Claims by government authorities for breach of laws or liability for taxes, duties, fines, or penalties.
  • I indemnify Strong Hearts Cattery against all losses, damage, or liability arising in relation to the following scenarios:
  • If a pet passes away while in care unless caused by negligence.
  • If a pet is injured or falls ill while in care unless caused by negligence.
  • In the event that my pet passes away while in the care of Strong Hearts Cattery, they will notify me as soon as practicable to arrange a collection.
